Deleting your account
Version 1.0 — August 2026
This page explains how to delete your Norbo account (app.mariustrica.norbo) and everything linked to it, what gets erased, what stays in backups for a short while, and for how long. You can do it yourself from the app, at any time, without asking anyone's permission.
1. Deleting your account from the app
This is the fastest route: deletion starts immediately, with no waiting and no need to write to anyone.
- Open Norbo and go to the Profile tab;
- Open Settings, Account section;
- Tap "Delete account";
- Type your email address to confirm (this guards against accidental deletion) and confirm.
From that moment the account is deactivated and you can no longer sign in. Permanent removal from our systems happens within 30 days (see section 4).
2. Requesting deletion without the app
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your account, or simply prefer to write, you can request deletion by email.
- Write to trica.assistance.apps@gmail.com;
- Use the email address associated with your Norbo account: that is how I verify the request really comes from you;
- Use "Norbo account deletion" as the subject.
You don't need to give a reason. I will confirm the deletion within 30 days of receiving your request, as required by Article 12 GDPR. If the request comes from an address other than the account's, I may need to ask you for further verification before proceeding — that protects you, it isn't an obstacle.
3. What gets deleted
Account deletion is complete: no dormant profile is left behind and nothing is kept to reactivate you later. The following are erased:
- The account: email address, password, name or nickname, profile photo, language, theme and notification preferences;
- The link with Google, Apple, Facebook or Microsoft, if you signed in with one of them;
- All of your pets: records, photos, dates, breed or species, notes;
- The entire health timeline: vaccinations, vet visits, antiparasitics, weight entries, water parameters and every other recorded event;
- The health booklet, including microchip, vet details and insurance information;
- Photos, albums and uploaded attachments, including documents and receipts;
- Reminders and their scheduled notifications;
- Recorded expenses and receipt photos;
- Saved results from the tools and calculators;
- Push notification tokens for your devices;
- The notifications in your in-app inbox.
If you had shared a pet with another person, your copy is deleted; the pet remains with the other user if they are an owner too.
4. What remains, and for how long
A few things survive for a short period, but only for technical reasons or legal obligations — never to reactivate your account or for commercial purposes.
- Permanent deletion (hard delete) from the live databases: within 30 days of the request;
- Database backups: kept for 30 days on a rolling basis, then deleted. In the meantime your data may still exist in a backup, but it is neither used nor consulted, except for an emergency restore of the entire system;
- Technical application logs (IP address, timestamps, request type): kept for 90 days, then deleted;
- Security logs: kept for as long as applicable law requires.
Legal obligations, for example tax-related ones, may require specific records to be kept for longer. In that case the data is retained solely for the purpose imposed by law and for nothing else.
5. Deleting only part of your data
You don't need to close your account to get rid of something specific. Straight from the app you can delete, at any time, a single pet, a timeline event, a photo, an attachment, a reminder or an expense. Deleting a pet takes all of its events, photos and tool results with it.
You can also turn off push notifications from the settings without touching the rest of your account.
6. If you need help
If something doesn't work, if you can't find the option in the app, or if you simply want written confirmation that the deletion happened, write to me: trica.assistance.apps@gmail.com.
Norbo is built and operated by an independent developer, Marius Trica, in Italy. I answer every request personally.
